It would be nice to provide mail SSL/TLS support with SNI for more domains from single IP
It would be nice to provide mail SSL/TLS support with SNI for more domains from single IP
We are glad to inform you that this feature is available.
- If you use the domain (example.org) as an address for a mail server as well, see https://support.plesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/12377516977175-How-to-assign-an-SSL-certificate-per-domain-to-secure-the-mail-server-in-Plesk-SNI-support for details on how it could be configured.
- If you would like to use a 3rd level domain (e.g. mail.example.org) as an address for a mail server, then please use a wildcard certificate for this scenario.
- If you are interested in the scenario where Plesk serves mails (mail.example.org) and the A-record for the domain (example.org) points to another server, please continue voting for the https://plesk.uservoice.com/forums/184549-feature-suggestions/suggestions/39378850 request.
If you have any feedback on the implementation of this feature, please let us know on the forum: https://talk.plesk.com.

With the uprising of the privacy and security discussion and the need of a more secure digital space, SNI is a must have feature.
Please prioritize this up, it's a much needed feature. -

This is an absolute must have in 2018. Security aware users want to use SSL and their own domains. And nowadays more and more people are security aware.

Our Clients are requestion SSL for their mail services using their own domains, too. They're threatening to cancel us and change providers. -

Agree. For us this is a killer feature and we now have to think about migrating away. We cannot tell peope one single hostname for shared mail services.

Yes, this is a very helpful feature for all the users, in order to set up a secure connection to the server

I agree. Without this feature it is impossible to set up a secure connection from notification services on other servers (example - notify when a new cloud user subscribes, or event monitoring for a VOIP service) without having to send credentials in plain text (which is REALLLLLLLY not advisable in today's internet environment). As it is now, I have to set up a separate server to handle these processes which decreases the value of the Plesk platform for me and I would assume others as well. Please add this feature ASAP. Plesk is a great offering but without security it's less appealing. Adding the Let's encrypt tool was a major step toward answering security concerns (and thank you for that), and SNI support is a very logical and marketable extension of that.
