Multiple backup rules or more options
At this moment, you can set only 1 rule to make backups (daily, weekly, or monthly). My idea is to make multiple backup rules (ex. which daily backups should be deleted) or simply make more backup options.
Ex:
I want to make daily backup and delete every older than 2 days, except one day of the week and one day of the month.
ex interface:
Make [daily/weekly/monthly] backup and keep only:
[n] daily backups (enabled only for daily backups)
[n] weekly backups (enabled for daily and weekly backups)
[n] monthly backups (enabled for daily, weekly and monthly backups)
So, if someone picks daily backups from 2 days, but also wants a 1 monthly backup, the script makes daily backups and deletes every backup older than 2 days except 1 monthly backup. This way it doesn't make double work - backup for daily backups and backup for monthly backups.
I'm glad to inform you that the request is completed and available since Plesk Obsidian 18.0.55
We have finished our big pack of Backup improvements for the scheduler to establish a more flexible backup policy:
- Multiple backup schedules with different destination for each schedule at once to get a flexible and robust backup policy. User can keep, for example, hourly backups locally and weekly backups to cloud or FTP. Establishing multiple backup schedules at once is a part of a license to the Backup to Cloud Pro extension. The extension is included already to Plesk Hosting Pack.

Make per domain backups! No need to deal with a 300GB file if one client makes a mistake. But don't force me to activate the backups individually and configure individual backup space for each customer, how is that helping?

@Plesk Staff
For our sanity, please enable the Plesk Migrator to also transfer the subscription Backup settings when migrated to a new server.
Since System-Dist-Upgrades are not advisable on production server, once in a while all customers/subscriptions etc. have to be migrated to a new node. But the backup settings are not transfered. Guess what, customers don't pay for you to add their backups settings back.
This shouldn't be to hard, since this is all in the database already. Thanks!

The ability to create customized schedules for backups is requested.
For example to create 4 backups in 1 week. -

Is that possible backup files and databases separate? For users or domains, i think only files or only databases choices should be.

It would be great if it will be possible to set the default backup configuration for new subscriptions from Plesk or possibility of backup configuration for subscription from SSH

It would REALLY help if we had the option to have the scheduled backup make a backup per subscription rather than in one file. If there's a major issue and I need to access files in the full backup, I need to download and join 235GB worth of files, which takes hours.
If we could do it per account, I could just download the one I needed.

Please allow different settings for database and file backups. For example I may want to do database backups twice a day and keep them for just 15 days, but I want to keep file backups (for ex.: invoices, user uploads) for years.

How about Hourly backups, could you please add this in the incoming improvement. -

- its no fun to get the 8 TB File just to restore 1 Domain or Database.
- i guess you will also have problems if your server harddrives are more then 50% full (since you can´t download the backup)i would really love if there is an option that all (sub)domains are split + databases as an extra file.
if its a matter of knowing which files counts towards which backup, you could just create a folder per backup(job) and put the split archives inside. -

Agreed with Martin's commented.
DirectAdmin as its price cheaper than any CP can do this. But Plesk not?

I would also recommend to have a option to Backup the FTP AND the DB in the same .zip or at once.
It should be possible to set a pattern for the Name.
For me it would be:"[Name of Subscription] [Date].zip"
Like mentioned in the OP a intervall in which the subscription gets Backuped would be nice.
