It would be nice to provide mail SSL/TLS support with SNI for more domains from single IP
It would be nice to provide mail SSL/TLS support with SNI for more domains from single IP
We are glad to inform you that this feature is available.
- If you use the domain (example.org) as an address for a mail server as well, see https://support.plesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/12377516977175-How-to-assign-an-SSL-certificate-per-domain-to-secure-the-mail-server-in-Plesk-SNI-support for details on how it could be configured.
- If you would like to use a 3rd level domain (e.g. mail.example.org) as an address for a mail server, then please use a wildcard certificate for this scenario.
- If you are interested in the scenario where Plesk serves mails (mail.example.org) and the A-record for the domain (example.org) points to another server, please continue voting for the https://plesk.uservoice.com/forums/184549-feature-suggestions/suggestions/39378850 request.
If you have any feedback on the implementation of this feature, please let us know on the forum: https://talk.plesk.com.

"FINISHED"?!?
What about mail.example.org with external DNS, why in the world would a wildcard be necessary? This means manual juggling in Plesk and ext. DNS for doing ACME challenges every 3 months for every single domain. SERIOUSLY?
Obviously this issue has not been completely understood by Plesk, after having it painfully ignored for many years.
On talk.plesk.com, companies have even begun to write scripts to manage this problem.

This seems to be working for me with Plesk 18.0.21.3 — even using "mail.domain.com" as a mail server as long as "mail" is added as an A-Record in DNS and as an alias to the main domain in the Plesk GUI.

Fair question!
Postfix (3.4.0) with SNI support has been available since February...

Is this feature already released for Linux?

Windows is fine for admins and users who don't mind paying crazy amounts of money for an OS and CALs, but for the vast majority of your customer base (who I suspect uses Linux implementations), a Linux solution sure would be welcome. Are you even working on this? Or has it become a "we provide it for Windows based servers, so change your implementation to meet what we are willing to provide" solution?

as far as I saw there is SNI support in Postfix now, right? so what is the status? I know you have to rebuild a lot, but still, it is a major issue for my clients.

Hope there will be a final solution soon. This is an extremely important issue in Plesk- Postfix.
This has been going on for too much time already.
