  1. Let's encrypt: add domain aliases

The let's encrypt extension is great, except... it doesn't work for me: It doesn't add domain aliases. I have domains like "typing-error.de", "typing-eror.de", "typing-errror.de", "typing-error.com" etc. (you get the idea). As-is, only the primary domain is added to the certificate.

  2. Make all e-mail templates customizable (including password reset e-mail)

One can currently already customize a number of e-mail templates by going to "Tools and settings" -> "Notifications""

However it would be nice if all e-mail templates where present there. The e-mail that is sent out on password resets is currently missing.

I would like to edit that so that the panel's URL in the e-mail does not point to port :8443
(we run a setup as described in: https://support.plesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/213945625-How-to-make-Plesk-accessible-on-a-hostname-without-entering-the-port- )

  3. Create a wget function on file manager

Its very common that we need to download a large gb archive into our httpdocs follder.
With the proper download/wget function on filemanager instead of ssh and then wget, changing ownership , will help us save a lot of time.

In Plesk Obsidian 18.0.54, published July 18th, 2023, Plesk has added the ability to back up databases separately from other website  content by splitting the “User files and databases” checkbox into  separate “Databases” and “User files” checkboxes in Backup Manager.

Please let us know your thoughts and ideas on further improvements on this new feature.

We are happy to announce that mailman3 support is now available in Plesk Obsidian 18.0.59+ on Debian 11 and Debian 12.

Unfortunately, mailman3 packages can't be installed on Ubuntu22 and Ubuntu24 because of bugs (https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mailman3/+bug/1999197, https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mailman-suite/+bug/2062960). It blocks us from implementing supporting mailman3 on these OSes right now. When the bugs are fixed, we will return to implementing mailman3 support on these operating systems.

Also, to our regret, it is impossible to provide Mailman support on modern RHEL-based OSes because RedHat does not have plans to support Mailman in new OS releases (https://access.redhat.com/solutions/6766041). If you prefer RHEL-based OSes, as a workaround, you can use Plesk on AlmaLinux 8.x, where the mailman2 package is present; the vendor's termination date for AlmaLinux 8.x is 2029.

All other known limitations for Mailman support you can find in Plesk Documentation by the link https://docs.plesk.com/en-US/obsidian/administrator-guide/59438/. If you have any feedback on the implementation of this…

  10. Update Node.js Extension to support current versions

The plesk extension is currently delivered with a bit older versions of Node.js (3 months):
    - 6.10.2 LTS (plesk 6.9.1)
    - 7.9.0 (plesk: 7.4.0)

  11. Autoconfigure NGINX for WordPress Permalinks

WordPress Permalinks are not working with Nginx.
The Webpage shows the error: wordpress 404 ngix
The URL-rewriting with other Permalinks than pageID is not working with Nginx.

Implementing this seems not easy (for me), just when you also want to use a WP caching tool.
    Have a look here:

    https://codex.wordpress.org/Nginx

Please implement this out of the box by activating with checkbox etc...

    Thanks

We have addressed this request to a certain (reasonable) extent. Specifically:

    • WP permalinks will work if nginx works in the nginx-only mode for a website, serving FPM
    • WP permalinks won’t work if nginx is working as a proxy in front of Apache
    • WP permalinks won’t work in case of custom error pages.

This change is available since around WPT 4.3.2. Let us know if you have any questions or comments on our forum: https://talk.plesk.com/forums/wordpress-toolkit.750/

  12. Postfix preferred ip

Our suggestion is add an UI element to user area, where end user can change preferred outgoing ip for domain - ipv4 or ipv6. Without mail server config hacks from server admins.

Since Plesk Obsidian 18.0.52, published April 25th, 2023, Plesk sends mail from the domain only via the specific IP address, if a specific IP address version (IPv4 or IPv6) is set for a domain (PPPM-13770).

Please let us know in your comments if this caters your needs or if and what modifications you would like to see.

  13. WordPress migration tool

    Add WordPress migration tool

Please add a WordPress migration tool where one can move the hole WordPress installation within a domain to another domain or subdomain,
    - on the same Server inside Plesk
    - to another Server with Plesk installation
    - to another Server with different OS like from Windows IIS to Linux Apache / NGINX (with rewriting the permissions from web.config to .htacces and all other necessary files and the other way round)
    Thanks.

WordPress Toolkit v2.0 adds the cloning functionality that allows you to create a copy of your WordPress instance anywhere on the same server.

Also, the latest version of Plesk Migrator enhances the WordPress Toolkit by adding the ability to take over remote WordPress instances, migrating them to your server.

Both extensions are available right now.

If you have any feedback about this functionality, please use our forum:

    Thank you very much.

The Roundcube was updated in Plesk Onyx 17.8.11. We suggest you to upgrade to Plesk Onyx 17.8.11 MU1 and check it out (https://docs.plesk.com/release-notes/onyx/change-log/#contents-17811-mu1).

The Roundcube also was updated in Plesk Onyx 17.5.3 MU29 (https://docs.plesk.com/release-notes/onyx/change-log/#contents-1753-mu29) and Plesk Onyx 17.0.17 MU40 (https://docs.plesk.com/release-notes/onyx/change-log/#contents-17017-mu40).

  15. Add subdomains in one Let's Encrypt certificate

Add subdomains to one Let's Encrypt certificate.

    Why?

Because Let's Encrypt has currently limit 5 certificates / 7 days on one domain.

Example: in one Let's Encrypt cerftificate will be this DNS names: example.com; www.example.com; sub1.example.com; sub2.example.com

I think it will be helpful if you can simply add your own domains and subdomains in Let's Encrypt Certificate.

    Thanks!

  16. More Improvements for WordPress Toolkit: Bulk remove/clone UI (and command-line support)

    • Option for "bulk remove" instances (included all wp-content folder)
    • Option for bulk "clone" a WP instance to multiple subdomains/domains or subdirs

Of course, also include support for clone/remove instances using command-line support (https://docs.plesk.com/en-US/onyx/administrator-guide/plesk-administration/wordpress-toolkit-in-plesk.73563/)

  18. Add an option to unlink a site from WordPress Toolkit list.

Hi. I have about 50 sites on my Plesk server. Some are Wordpress sites developed outside this server and uploaded after development ended. Once I scan the server, all Wordpress sites are added to the WordPress Toolkit list.
The problem is not all customers are paying for regular bases maintenance so I don't want their website to be on my WordPress Toolkit list.
Now I can't unlink any of the sites in the list.

Starting with WordPress Toolkit v5.9.2, permanent detachment is available. Once you detach a site from WordPress Toolkit, it stays detached forever. If you need to make a detached site visible to WordPress Toolkit again, remove the .wp-toolkit-ignore file from the site's home directory and run Scan.

  19. default chroot PHP cli should use Plesk panel PHP version & settings

Currently when a user uses SSH to execute PHP cli commands, it does not reflect the settings chosen in Plesk panel (it seems to be the default OS vendor PHP). While other PHP versions are available in "/opt/plesk/php/..." the current solution is neither ideal nor transparent to the user (most of them don't even know this path).

I suggest that the default chrooted PHP command
-) should use the same version as chosen as in plesk panel
-) and should use ini settings (memorylimit, maxexecution_time) as chosen in plesk panel

Ideally this should even be possible on domain…
