Multiple backup rules or more options
At this moment, you can set only 1 rule to make backups (daily, weekly, or monthly). My idea is to make multiple backup rules (ex. which daily backups should be deleted) or simply make more backup options.
Ex:
I want to make daily backup and delete every older than 2 days, except one day of the week and one day of the month.
ex interface:
Make [daily/weekly/monthly] backup and keep only:
[n] daily backups (enabled only for daily backups)
[n] weekly backups (enabled for daily and weekly backups)
[n] monthly backups (enabled for daily, weekly and monthly backups)
So, if someone picks daily backups from 2 days, but also wants a 1 monthly backup, the script makes daily backups and deletes every backup older than 2 days except 1 monthly backup. This way it doesn't make double work - backup for daily backups and backup for monthly backups.
I'm glad to inform you that the request is completed and available since Plesk Obsidian 18.0.55
We have finished our big pack of Backup improvements for the scheduler to establish a more flexible backup policy:
- Multiple backup schedules with different destination for each schedule at once to get a flexible and robust backup policy. User can keep, for example, hourly backups locally and weekly backups to cloud or FTP. Establishing multiple backup schedules at once is a part of a license to the Backup to Cloud Pro extension. The extension is included already to Plesk Hosting Pack.

What a shame. These companies keep doing stupid things lately. Even placing the links to be traced by FACEBOOK. They don't learn anymore, only when they reach a point where they are on the verge of bankruptcy.
Backups are vital, you can't negotiate. Even free panels like AAPANEL or CYBERPANEL have been offering it for years.

This is a newly implemented feature that was suggested over 10 years ago! When I received the good news email from Plesk today that this feature had been accepted and put into production, I clipped the email and sent to my development team and product team. We all had a good laugh. I mean, COME ON... it's been 10 years... and we have long long long ago moved on from Plesk.... this is a great example that will live on forever as an example where there is a breakdown between product and users... we've already long ago moved thousands of clients away from Plesk because of the lack of straightforward features like this that should have been implemented 9 years ago. bye bye...

Sometimes it seems like Plesk is hunting on a Zoo, this is one example ...

I can't believe you added the new features to a PAID plan. I'm speechless.

If we have to pay for a proper backup solution, then there are far better options than this.
Like Plesk's license pricing wasn't already high enough to include the feature... Plesk had to release this as a paid extension... Next up we're gonna pay for what, a better email management system or DNSSEC? Oh wait...
If we have to pay for everything, what even is the point of using Plesk? License pricing has greatly increased already over the years, to the point where Plesk license sometimes outweight the server cost itself. Don't you think you're milking us enough?

cPanel and Plesk have the same owner now, two different products and user base .. who knows for how long it will be two separate products if it keeps going this way. Users will migrate to cPanel if Plesk becomes a pay to have features product.

wow.
Cpanel has this feature for free for like at least 5 years.
We will continue using a third party tool for backup as it seems.
After a 10 year delay and since this is not major undertaking, it should have been part of the base license in my opinion. -

Nobody asked for a paid-for extension. The request is for BASIC PROVISION as part of Plesk. When Plesk raised our licensing fees it was confirmed that this was to go towards product development. You can’t charge us twice and expect us to be happy.
Make it Free

If I have to pay for backup I’m going with Acronis.

Please look at either updraft or jet backup (for cPanel) and give us more flexibility.
I am not happy that it is another license, but if you get the rest of the features implemented I would TBH buy it. -

Why don't you allow at least multiple local backups for free?

Because its a money grab scheme thats why. You create a bad product to begin with, with very limited options and then sell the monthly upgrade. Its 40 dollars so if development cost 1000 dollars you’ll need 30 paying customers to break even. So yes its a money grab.

I don't have words for this movement. Don't know why we have to pay additional monthly fees for use multiple backups. Don't know why. My head can't process this

Also why the URL redirects through facebook?
Just put it normally without any bs:

Please... add multiple backup please!
And hourly backups for databases! Very very important -

The option for hourly backups would be appreciated.

At the minimum, can we at least get an option to back up more than once per day? That seems like a trivial thing to build out.

Please add a "hourly backup to Google Drive" option. Making remote backups every 24 hours is not good enough.
