  2. Implement settings synchronization between Plesk servers for Plesk Events in Slack extension

It would be good to implement ability to easily synchronize settings of Plesk Events in Slack extension between different servers in GUI.

For example: there might be special button in Plesk GUI to import/export settings as a file.

  3. More advanced anti-ddos interface and settings

This (https://support.plesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/115000784914-What-DDoS-protection-tools-are-available-in-Plesk) recently updated article shows that we still need paid extensions to better protect our servers against ddos attacks.

It would be great if Plesk would create a more advanced anti-ddos monitoring tool with a useful interface, alerts, and the right amount of settings to better protect our servers from ddos attacks without the need to install a third party extension with additional costs. Preferably created with "good defaults" in mind.

Effective DDoS solutions must be installed before the server, not on the server. Because once an attack is able to reach the server, it will block all network bandwith and create a high cpu load so that the server becomes unavailable for other tasks. No on-server DDoS protection can perform good enough to keep a server safe from that. Plesk already has on-server protection, such as Fail2Ban and the built-in firewall capabilities. Nevertheless, we'd love to hear what you are missing as an on-server protection.

The request asks for and "advanced anti-ddos monitoring tool with a useful interface, alerts, and the right amount of settings".

Could you please be specific about these points.

    - What exactly makes an "advanced" tool for you?

    - How do you imagine a "useful" interface?

    - What "alerts" would you like to get?

    - What are the "right amount of settings" for you?

    Please let…

  4. Clarify "Web Hosting Access", "Web Server Settings", and "Hosting Settings" in the Power User view

As an IT professional and software developer, I find the most confusing part of the panel to be the distinction between "Web Hosting Access", "Web Server Settings", and "Hosting Settings" in the Power User view.

Under "Web Hosting Access", it feels like "System user" and "Hard quota on disk space" make sense, but the "IP Addresses" setting is in the wrong place. I would think that the IP addresses would be configured under "Hosting Settings".

"Web Server Settings" page is a hodge-podge of both Apache and Nginx settings. Why not split this screen into separate…

  6. better backup priority settings to include nice and ionice

Currently it seems the backup priority only takes CPU into account and not I/O

I would prefer the backup low priority settings to be changed into specific values. For example

CPU PRIORITY -> Select Box with options 1-19
IO Class -> Select Box with options 1-3
IO Priority-> Select Box with options 1-7

1 means realtime and the higher the number the less important is the task.

Then this can be converted into custom commands depending on the user needs like:

    nice -n{CPU PRIORITY} ionice -c{I/O CLASS} -n{I/O Priority} <backup task command>

For example one could set like this

    nice…

  7. Change password type in Backup Settings via CLI

Currently, it is only possible to change this setting via Tools & Settings > Backup Manager > Settings > Backup Security Settings > Password type
In case of deploying multiple servers it becomes very time-consuming, so it would be useful to add the ability to change this setting via CLI

  9. Separate mozilla tls cipher settings for web and mail

Please separate the mozilla tls cipher settings for web and mail.
Sometimes the old ciphers has to set only for mail and not for web.
Additionally it would be great if the setting could available on domain basis.

Please see this forum post as a reference: https://talk.plesk.com/threads/tls-versions-and-ciphers-by-mozilla-issue-with-the-last-synchronisation.358066/post-882924

  13. Option to restrict available application versions (e.g. WordPress 4.8.x only) via service plan settings (or subscription settings)

Option to restrict available application versions (e.g. WordPress 4.8.x only) via service plan settings (or subscription settings).

The use case is that we want to limit the options for the more inexperienced customer which represent the majority our customers. They have no need for a list of 15-20 versions to choose from, if they pick the "custom install" that is.

A secondary reason is the older versions are older versions for a reason. The older versions have unfixed security updates and optimizations. As a hosting provider you might want have the policy you only want installs of a certain…

  14. Add max_connection to server-wide email settings

I frequently run into the problem not to be able to connect to my email server. The log shows: "Maximum connection limit reached"

If you have multiple email accounts, say for different domains, and you use them on your laptop, iphone and ipad, the connections sum up very quick one or the other can't connect anymore.

To get rid of this I'd like to have an option inside server wide email settings to be able to set MAXDAEMONS and MAXPERIP for courier-imap service, so I don't have to patch the /etc/courier-imap/imapd manually.

  15. Add compression settings for domain output

I want to see domain level setting that allows output from server to be compressed before being sent to the client over the network.

Now Plesk does not setup nginx/apache/iis to compress output.

  16. Manage PHP-FPM status path and additional PHP-FPM settings globally

For our monitoring environment we want to use the pm.status_path, ping.path and ping.response settings for all PHP-FPM pools globally.

At the moment the only way to set these settings is by adding the following in Domain -> PHP Settings -> Additional configuration directives:
    [php-fpm-pool-settings]
    pm.status_path = /php-fpm-status
    ping.path = /php-fpm-ping
    ping.response = pong

Unfortunately there is no way to set this globally, not by changing the plan nor by utilizing event handlers (because we're unable to set this through /usr/local/psa/bin/php_settings -u).

I've also been unable to find the template for the PHP-FPM pool settings, so also…

  17. Allow restoration of manaully migrated data in new Plesk Migrator extension

The old Migration and Transfer agent to migrate data that had already been created by using the PleskX.pl migration script by selecting the option in the migration wizard.

The new Plesk Migrator does not support this feature thus the manual method of migration is no longer available in Plesk 12.5 (as per below KB artilcle):

  19. Separate Hosting-Type setting from other hosting settings

In Plesk 12.5 users can only change the hosting type if they are also granted permissions to add CGI, Perl or other insecure options to their domain. While changing the hosting type is secure, all the other settings are insecure for the hosting company.

Users should be able to set their hosting type while they should not be able to change other hosting settings. It is very common that users change a redirect to a website and a website to a redirect. With the current mix of hosting type with other permissions it is impossible to let users choose…

  20. Allow multi-thread options in Plesk Migrator to speed up huge migrations

The Plesk Migrator tool is very limited when migrating a big amount of subscriptions, databases and mails.

Checking the CPU usage when performing a migration, Plesk Migrator utilities are not reaching 20% of the CPU because this tool is not supporting multi-threading.

Therefore, due to this limitation, a huge migration can take a few days or even more than a week to be completed.

If Plesk Migrator would use the full capabilities of the hardware available in our servers, the migration can be faster and match our migration deadlines.

It would be great that a few options in panel.ini or…
